Smoothies are amazing because they can be tailored to your needs. They are unbelievably easy to make and you can have one any time of the day, whether it’s breakfast or as a snack for a quick energy burst.
Summer Fruits Icy Smoothie
This summer fruits icy smoothie is great for the summer months or a hot day when you need to cool down fast. It contains lots of berries for skin health and almond milk so its vegan friendly. This one is very thick, icy, and quite tart but the great thing about smoothies is that you can adapt the amounts to suit your taste.
(This makes enough for 2 people and the glass size used is a medium wine glass):
- Almond Milk -1/2 a glass each (1 full wine glass for 2 people)
- 2-3 heaped ladles of pre-packed frozen summer fruits
- 1 frozen banana
- 10 frozen blueberries
- Add the frozen fruits to the blender
- Measure the amount of milk in your glass and then tip it into the blender. You will need about half a wine glass of milk each, so a whole wine glass for 2 people)
- Blend well until there are no lumps
If you find that there’s too much frozen fruit for the blender then just add a bit more milk. If you prefer a more milky version then use more milk and just one ladle of frozen summer fruits.
You can make lots of variations of this smoothie by using different frozen fruits, such as black forest fruits, or using more blueberries instead. The great thing about smoothies is that they are very versatile and can be adapted to suit your own tastes. If it’s too icy then add more milk. If it’s too tart then add sweeter fruit or a bit of maple syrup. The possibilities are endless.
